Biography
Dr. Admir Kurtcehajic was born in 1981 in Bijelo Polje, Montenegro, where he completed his primary and secondary education. He earned his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Sarajevo in 2008, with a thesis on Assessment of the Genotoxic Potential of Acetylsalicylic Acid Using the Micronucleus Test.
In 2013, he completed his Master’s degree at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tuzla, defending his thesis Efficacy and Safety of Pneumatic Balloon Dilation in Achalasia: A 12-Year Experience, published in the Esophagus journal (Web of Science). He specialized in Internal Medicine in 2015 and completed subspecialization in Gastroenterohepatology at the University Clinical Center Tuzla in 2018.
In 2024, he earned his PhD at the University of Tuzla with the dissertation Could Near Focus Endoscopy, Narrow-Band Imaging, and Acetic Acid Improve the Visualization of Microscopic Features of Stomach Mucosa?, with related studies published in World Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Journal of Gastrointestinal and Liver Diseases, and Endoscopy.
Dr. Kurtcehajic is Head of the Department of Scientific Research at Blue Medical Group. A member of ESGE and the Association of Gastroenterologists and Hepatologists of BiH, he has authored/co-authored over 25 Web of Science–indexed publications.
