Mirnes Smajilović
Biography
Mirnes Smajilović is a mathematics professor, born in Zvornik, with extensive experience in both education and the information technology industry. He completed his primary and secondary education with outstanding results and subsequently graduated from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the University of Tuzla, Department of Mathematics. Since 2013, he has been working as a mathematics professor, following a distinguished professional engagement in the IT sector. His strong commitment to advancing mathematics education was recognized in 2018 when the Association of Secondary School Students in Bosnia and Herzegovina named him the best teacher in the country.
During the 2022/2023 academic year, he was engaged at the Polytechnic Faculty of the University of Zenica as an industry expert in the Software Engineering program, where he conducted practical classes in Introduction to Programming Techniques, Algorithms and Data Structures, and Information Systems Security. As the founder and president of the Association of Mathematicians of the Central Bosnia Canton, he actively contributes to the promotion and popularization of mathematics through competitions and professional development programs for teachers.
He has participated as a lecturer in numerous seminars and conferences dedicated to the digitalization of education. His research interests include cryptography and programming. Through his IT company, established in 2018, he develops programming projects and mentors young people in IT and robotics.
